Ask a question and see the source behind the answer
Campus Answers gives each college answers drawn only from sources that college has approved. Every answer lists its sources with links. When no approved source covers a question, the screen says so plainly and hands the person to the named office.
One workspace per college under one system. Sign in through your college account. Visitors on a college website see public approved sources only.
Question: When is the last day to add a class for spring?
Answer: The spring add deadline is listed on the spring term dates page for this college. Check the date on that page before you plan your schedule.
Read an answer, then check it
Nothing is hidden behind an answer. The person who asked can open each source, rate the answer, or choose a handoff.
Ask in plain words
Choose an assistant for the job, such as admissions and financial aid, IT help, or student services, then type the question as you would say it.
Read the short answer
The answer is short and direct, and it comes only from approved sources for that college and that assistant.
Open each source link
Each answer lists the exact sources used, with the source title and the last checked date from the source record. See how to check a source.
Rate it or hand it off
Mark the answer helpful or not helpful, or choose the handoff office when the answer does not fit or no approved source covers the question.
Example of a not-known answer
I do not have an approved source for that.
That plain message is shown when no approved source covers the question. The screen names the office that can help and offers the handoff, with the question and the sources tried attached.
Example office: your college office directory names the office, hours, phone, email, and location.
Checks a buyer can ask about
- An answer is shown only when at least one approved source supports it.
- Every source has an owner office, an approval record, and a review date.
- A source past its review date stops being used in new answers until it is re-approved.
- Retiring a source removes its passages from new answers at once and keeps past citations readable for audit.
- Test conversations are labelled as test and kept out of usage and satisfaction counts.
Built for the people who ask and the people who answer
Each group sees only the work and records for its own college, at the level its role allows.
Students and prospective students
Ask in the signed-in app or the website widget, read answers with source links, rate an answer, or hand off to the right office.
Help desk and student services staff
Work the handoffs queue with the full question, the answer given, and the sources tried, so the person is not asked again.
College administrators
Approve sources and assistants, set data-use and retention rules for the college, and see reports by college and assistant.
System office governance staff
See every college under one system, approve sources and assistants, and compare usage and unanswered questions across colleges.
Set up in plain steps, with approval before anything goes live
Each college builds its own assistants for its own jobs, with its own approved sources and its own handoff office, under one system.
Approve a source
Add a college web page, file, or collection. Name the owner office, set the review date, and submit it for approval. Approve a source, step by step.
Build an assistant for one job
Set the name, welcome text, covered topics, approved sources for this college only, and the handoff office. Start with admissions and financial aid, IT help, or student services. Build an assistant.
Test answers and check sources
Ask questions the source can answer and questions it cannot. Open each source link, mark each result pass or needs work, and fix the source or wording before approval. Test answers.
Publish to the app and the website widget
Publish only when every linked source is approved for that college and a handoff office is named. Preview the widget on a test page, then place it on the live page. Publish the widget.
Plain answers for procurement, IT, and compliance
- What is kept and for how long: each college sets what is kept, session-only mode, and how long records are kept. The rule is shown in plain words and each change is recorded.
- Who can view student questions: only roles that need it for the task. Reading full question text and exporting detail need a separate permission and are audit logged.
- No use of college material to train outside systems: college questions, uploads, and outputs are never used to train any outside system, and that rule is locked at platform level.
- Per-college separation: every assistant, source, question, and report belongs to exactly one college workspace. System view shows totals and never mixes student writing across colleges.
- Accessibility: the chat screen and widget are built to meet WCAG 2.1 AA, with keyboard and screen reader testing on phone and desktop. Accessibility.
- Stated plainly during evaluation: a VPAT for the college configuration and a HECVAT are completed during evaluation. No security certification is claimed until it is held.
See what was asked, what was answered, and what was not
Every headline number opens the list behind it, with college local time stated on the screen, so staff can act on the numbers.
Headline numbers
Questions asked, answered share, hand-offs by office, helpful and not helpful ratings, and satisfaction, by college, assistant, channel, and date range.
Unanswered themes
Unanswered and low-rated questions are grouped by theme, with counts, so an owner can be assigned and a due date set.
Source use
See which approved sources were cited most, which were never used, and which need review before their next review date.
Exports with permission
Authorized staff export reports in standard formats. Exports are audit logged with the filters and row count.
What staff do next
Open the work queue
Filter unanswered, not helpful, and low satisfaction questions by theme, assistant, and owner, then assign an owner and due date. Work unanswered questions.
Fix the source, not the answer
Add or fix an approved source, or improve the assistant. A question is marked resolved only by linking the approved source or assistant change that covers it.
Check the next period report
Confirm the count fell before marking a theme resolved. Questions marked not in scope stay visible in reports so leaders see known gaps.
How the counts are kept honest
- Test and staff preview sessions are excluded from headline counts and labelled as excluded.
- Every headline number links to the filtered list or transcript behind it.
- One workspace per college, with system view aggregating colleges without mixing student writing.
- Reports show college local time and the date range on the screen.
